Hello everyone! I'm back from PAX Prime! Thanks to your help I was able to eat food while I was there, haha; thank you. Now I will be doing commissions to pay my mother back for the trip expenses. I really love & appreciate her soooo much for always sending me out there! I will be continuing the CHIBI COMMISSION SALE for a short period of time.
I accept Paypal ONLY. You must pay in advance. You must choose to send payment as a gift or I won't be paid in full by Paypal. You must include your Deviantart ID in the notes so I know who you are!
I have started the next three commissions.
No seriously. Try it. I reserve the right not to answer stupid/inappropriate questions.
I noticed I've been getting quite a few new fans so I figured that some of them might want to know stuff about me, or about how I work. I also get a lot of notes asking me the same questions over & over again so I thought this might be kinda like a reference guide! Of course any of my dear early-adopted fans can ask too!!! I'm busy so I'll answer them at my leisure. Below are some questions I have already answered.

Only if it's a base of mine.
No, I don't have any time for endeavors that don't directly involve my own projects.

Kisikae dolls from the 90s; I always wanted to make my own! In fact the first "doll base" I ever used was actually a stripped-down version of Punky's kisikae doll! I didn't even know that dolling existed! I mainly pixeled my Sailor Moon original characters but for several months I had a request service where you could ask for art of your own SM OCs. Back then I was drawing with pixels then tooling the shading. But yeah... all for the love of SM fanfiction! n_n;
I guess bases, because they require the least amount of designing, lol!
Yes - you can commission tutorials from me. They start at $30 but may go up depending on the complexity! Here is the information!
As long as you are only receiving Gaia Cash for them, NOT real money!
I started drawing when I was 5. Not surprisingly the first thing I learned to draw were My Little Ponies! My mother & I would sit together & practice drawing them from coloring book images! Later, I moved on to people because I started watching a lot of anime, most notably Sailor Moon.
I can only blame my database of knowledge. I pursue the mental consumption of everything I think is awesome. I especially like learning about science, technology, history/culture, psychology, sociology, & astronomy. I don't read a lot of books but I when I do I usually read dictionaries, reference guides & encyclopedia volumes. The only magazines I read are game magazines or japanese fashion magazines. I read tech blog & am addicted to the best video game blog ever. On top of that I play video games regularly, & also watch lots of anime, kung fu movies & science fiction movies/series. Somehow if you combine all of that together & take it to a super fangirl level, you get me.
I've been drawing since I can remember. The only thing I can think is that it's a combination of classic anime that I watched as a child. Artists specifically, probably Katsuhiro Otomo, Shotaro Ishinomori, & Kia Asamiya originally, then later Rumiko Takahashi, Naoko Takeuchi & CLAMP.
I've been using Adobe Photoshop for 3 years & I feel pretty comfortable with it. I'm so used to the interface at this point [cs3 anyway] that I can usually zip around it with nothing slowing me down. Photoshop is extremely powerful & I've only found a small handful of things I wish it offered that I miss from the program I used previously, Photoimpact. Photoshop is what I do all my graphic design, pixeling & digital art in. I've recently acquired Sai Painter but haven't started using it yet, & I also use adobe Illustrator for some graphic design work like logos & shirts.
It depends on the level of completion/detail.
sketch // 20m - 45m
pixel item // 30m
pixel base // 30m - 1h
pixel doll // 2h - 4h
digital painting // 4h -12h
I don't understand many things about fashion, & especially NOTHING about trends, but I have a strong grip on color theory & 2d/3d composition, so for me it's usually all about balancing color, negative space, & density, no matter if I'm working on photography, pixeling, graphic design, or character creation. balance & cohesion are the two most important things! For characters, if I didn't already imagine the world that the character I'm designing lives in, I'd have no theme or ideas to start with! While I'm working I drink a lot of water, take breaks & exercise, eat snacks & listen to my playlists.
I definitely like to be able to throw some roboty stuff in if I can! But I also love petite moe... I really can't choose.. it depends on my mood at the time!

I started SA in fall, 2007. The game that preceded it, Angel Synthesis, began in 2003; this game is not tied to the SA storyline in any way.

The forum has very strict rules about proper use of the English language. I'm very much an elitist when it comes to grammar & spelling so if you have a problem with either, I suggest you find another board. The game also requires the age minimum of 20 & 4+ years writing experience.

It's hard to say.. I'm a big fan of chiptunes, my favorite chip artist is Sabrepulse. I also love J-pop like anime theme songs & Ayumi Hamasaki. I love metal, my favorite group being Powerglove. Recently I discovered the J-pop metal chick band of my dreams, Aldious. I listen to lots of dnb but most of it is from 2004-2005. I own a vast array of video game soundtracks & I love them all!!!! When I'm working really hard, I love downtempo music & IDM, especially: Boards of Canada, Autechre & Vector Lovers.
I'll add more questions as needed~ Feel free to ask new questions now!
